A sawn-off shotgun and two used cartridges have been found by Gardai after a window of a house in Ballymun was shot out in the early hours of this morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:55am this morning, and there are reports that following the incident, three males were seen fleeing the scene.
It comes just days after shots were fired at another house in the same area in the early hours of the morning .
A garda spokesman confirmed the find this afternoon. He said: "Gardaí investigating the discharging of a firearm at a house in the Shangan Terrace area of Ballymun, that occurred on 28/07/19 at approximately 2:55am, have recovered a sawn off shotgun and two used shot gun cartridges.
"An upstairs window of the property was smashed in this incident. No injuries were sustained. It is reported that a group of three males were seen running from the scene.
"Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to contact Ballymun Garda Station on 01 666 64400 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
"The firearm will be forensically examined. Investigations are continuing."
