Gardai treating death of man whose body discovered in container in Dublin as 'tragic incident'

Gardai are treating the death of man whose body was discovered in a container in Dublin this week as a "tragic incident".

The man's body was discovered just before 11am in Ballymun , north Dublin on Monday morning.

Gardai earlier confirmed the discovery was made just yards from a local school.

A spokesperson said: "Following a post-mortem examination, An Garda Síochána are treating this case as a tragic incident.

"A file will now be prepared for the Coroner."

Local TD Noel Rock told the Irish Mirror: "It's a very sad situation. My thoughts are with the deceased and any family or friends they may have had."

Gardai arrived at the scene at Balbutcher Lane, on Monday morning shortly after the discovery was made.

The man who is aged in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardai have said the man’s death is not connected with any other ongoing investigations in the north Dublin area.
