Gardai storm Wexford house and find €66k worth of drugs in major bust

Gardai found drugs worth €66,000 after raiding a house in Co Wexford on Friday.

The seizure was made after a search at a property in the town of Kilmuckbridge near Enniscorthy yesterday.

Officers found amphetamine and cannabis at the scene and have seized them for analysis.

Two men, one aged in his early 40s and another in his late teens, were arrested.

They are currently being held at Wexford garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

A garda spokesman said: "As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí from the Wexford Divisional Drugs Unit carried out a search of a house in the Kilmuckbridge area of Enniscorthy on 05/02/2021.

"Amphetamine and Cannabis (both pending analysis) to the value of approximately €66,000 was discovered and seized.

"Two men, aged in their early 40s and late teens, were arrested in relation to this operation and are currently detained at Wexford Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

"Investigations are ongoing."
