Gardai stop driver for having no lights on and discover he's been drinking . . . and that's not all

A dozy drink driver’s merry mood was darkened last night after gardai were tipped off that a motorist was travelling along the N7 with no lights on.

As traffic cops caught up with the not-too-bright driver, they discovered that turning on his lights wasn't the only thing he’d forgotten to do.

When the driver was pulled over on the N7 near Kill by Naas Gardai, they discovered the motorist had no driving licence, no insurance, no tax - and the car had no NCT.

Worse still, the dim-witted wheelman failed the roadside breath test for drink driving.

The Garda Twitter account showed a picture of the moment the driver was stopped, adding that the person's car was seized and that he or she can look forward to a day in court.
