Gardai stop and search pensioner before making staggering MDMA discovery

Garda have arrested a man in his 70s after a stop and search led to the discovery of over €300,000 worth of MDMA.

Officers from the Store Street Garda station were on patrol on Monday evening in Dublin 1, where they stopped and search a man.

During their search, the drugs were discovered, with the man being arrested as a result.

Gardai believe that the seized MDMA is worth a whopping €310,000.

The MDMA was seized from a pensioner in Dublin city (An Garda Siochana)

The man was detained in the aftermath of the incident and is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Wednesday morning, charged with offences under the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking Act) 1996.
