Gardai still appealing for witnesses to 'unprovoked assault' in Clare

Gardai are still appealing for witnesses into the assault of a young man in Clare over the weekend.

The attack took place in the early hours of Sunday morning in the Saddle Lane area of Lahinch.

The victim is said to have been left with a broken nose and cut to his lip, in what was described as an "unprovoked assault."

Gardaí have said that they have not released a description of the suspect, but the Clare Champion is reporting that a suspect was possibly wearing a black / blue jumper during the attack.

They also said that "the details of injured parties and what steps An Garda Síochána have taken at an early stage of an investigation are not released."

Anyone who may have witnessed the assault on Sunday morning is asked to contact Ennistymon Garda Station on 065 6837622 or any Garda Station.
