Gardai stand down search for missing Dublin woman after remains found on Lambay Island

Remains discovered on an island off the coast of Dublin have been identified as missing woman Elizabeth Redmond.

Elizabeth went missing from her home in Artane, Dublin 5, on December 15.

The body of the 52-year-old was found on Lambay Island on Thursday.

A garda spokesperson: “Following the discovery of human remains on Lambay Island on Thursday, 27th January, 2022, being positively identified through DNA analysis, the media appeal in respect of missing person Elizabeth Redmond has been stood down.

“An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and public for their assistance in this matter. No further media action is required and no further information is available at this time.”
