Gardai speak to famous Youtube pranksters 'The Nelk Boys' after hundreds turn up to Phoenix Park meet up

Gardai decided to intervene after hundreds of teens swarmed the Phoenix Park on Friday evening after a famous Youtube group tried to organise a get together with fans.

Videos show fans running around the park and Chapelizod road going crazy after Canadian Pranksters 'Nelk' posted that they'd be in the park at 6pm.

The group, who have over three million subscribers on their channel, got an overwhelming response as images show teens scaling gates and letting off fireworks outside the park.

Gardai responded to try and control the crowd meanwhile the group also posted a video of an officer speaking with them in a city centre nightclub.

In a video posted after, the lads said they had no clue it was going to turn out as crazy as it did.

They said: “I don’t know how many people showed up, but the cops fucking closed the gate, they shut the place down.

“We chose a public place on purpose so we thought they couldn’t shut it down.”

One video of the madness shows youngsters pushing through gates where a security guard is completely outnumbered.

Another shows hundreds of youths sprinting across the grass inside the park while there were similar scenes around Chapelizod village.

Many locals were left completely confused and got the impression something much more sinister was happening.

They then saw the funny side after they realised what it was all about.

Dublin Live has contacted the Garda Press Office for comment.
