Gardai slam van driver online after illegally parking in disabled bay in busy Dublin town despite car parks nearby

Gardai have slammed a van driver online after they were caught illegally parked in a disabled bay - despite two large car parks located a short distance away.

The driver was found without a permit on the Main Street in Blanchardstown today, and was quickly handed a fixed penalty notice.

It comes as Operation Enable looks to clamp down on drivers illegally parking in these zones.

The post was uploaded just days after gardai condemned drivers online after pictures emerge of cars parked in disabled bays in Dublin city centre.

Gardai took to twitter to blast the driver this afternoon, they said: "Van driver parked in disabled bay without permit on Main St Blanchardstown today.

"2 large carparks within a 30 second walk but not close enough for this driver, FCPN issued."
