Gardai slag disqualified Dublin van driver with golf puns after they drove nearly 100km for game

Gardai took to their social media to slag a disqualified Dublin van driver with golf puns after they drove nearly 100km for a game of 18 holes despite being off the road.

The illegal motorist was surely feeling rough when they were stopped in Laois at a Garda patrol while on their way to a golf game with friends.

The FOREgetful motorist had left their driving licence at home when asked to produce it to members of the Laois Roads Policing Unit.

But, the officers were able to use their Mobility App which subsequently discovered that there was a hole in his story.

The person was already disqualified due to penalty points in a slip up described as a "double bogey" for the driver by Gardai.

Posting on their Facebook page, a Garda spokesperson said: A double bogey for this driver who drove from Dublin to Laois for a game of golf but forgot to bring along their driving licence.

They added: "A check with the Garda Mobility App showed the driver to be disqualified due to penalty points. Proceedings commenced."
