Gardai seized a large quantity of illegal drugs and cash following a raid on a house in north Dublin yesterday.

A man in twenties was arrested during the successful drug bust in Rush, which led to around €42,000 in cocaine and around €2,000 of cannabis being taken off the street.

A small amount of cash and drug paraphernalia was also seized in the raid, which was led by detectives from Balbriggan.

Gardai said in a statement: "On the 30th of August, 2019 Gardaí searched a house in Rush, Co. Dublin as part of ongoing operations targeting the sale and supply of drugs in north county Dublin.

The haul from the Rush raid included cocaine, cannabis and cash (An Garda Siochana)

"During this search Gardaí seized cocaine with an estimated street value of €42,000 (analysis pending) along with €2,000 of cannabis, other drug paraphernalia and a sum of cash.

"A man in his 20s was arrested and is currently detained at Balbriggan Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. He can be held for up to 24 hours."

The operation was led by Gardaí from the Balbriggan District Tasking Unit.
