Gardai seize ketamine worth a quarter of a million euro hidden in BBQ set

A man was arrested after gardai found a huge stash of Ketamine during an operation targeting a crime gang in Dublin.

A total of 4.15kgs of the illegal drugs were discovered hidden in a BBQ set by gardai and Revenue officers in Stoneybatter today. The seized Ketamine, with an estimated street value of €249,000, will be sent for further analysis.

A man in his late 20s was arrested and is currently detained at Store Street Garda station pursuant to Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

A garda spokesman said: "As part of ongoing investigations targeting persons suspected to be involved in an organised crime group operating in the Dublin 7 area, a joint operation was conducted by personnel attached to the Revenue Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the DMR North Central Divisional Drugs Unit, today, Wednesday 2nd November 2022.

"Investigations are ongoing."
