Gardai seize drugs, cash, car and ammunition in Finglas raids

Drugs worth over €300,000 have been seized by gardai following a number of raids in Finglas.

Heroin and cocaine worth over €320,000 were seized by gardai from Blanchardstown and Finglas garda stations in the Ratoath Road area.

A large amount of stolen property, was also seized including a large number of high value clothing, an amount of cash, two Rolex watches, a BMW vehicle and a small quantity of ammunition.

The search operation began this morning and continued until late this evening.

The search unites were assisted by local uniform, community policing, drugs unit members and Detective members. 

They were also assisted by a Customs search dog, the Garda Water Unit and the Armed Support unit.

Three people were arrested following the searches.

A garda spokeswoman said: "Two women (both early 40s) were arrested during the course of the searches and both were detained under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Finglas Garda Station. 

"They have both been charged in relation to the searches and released on bail. 

"One man (late 40s) was also arrested and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Finglas Garda station and has been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions."
