Gardai seize cannabis worth over €4,000 in operation targeting drug dealing west Dublin

Cannabis worth over €4,000 was seized by gardai as part of an operation targeting drug dealing in west Dublin last month.

Cocaine worth €210 was also seized during the same search of an address in the Hartstown/Hunstown area on August 27.

Gardai shared pictures of the significant haul on social media this afternoon.

They said: "As a result of operation targeting drug dealing in the Hartstown/Huntstown area on the 27th August 2019, Gardaí from the Blanchardstown Community Action team (K-Cats) and Operation Runoff carried out a search of an address in the Fortlawn area.

"Cocaine with a value of €210 and Cannabis with a value of €4,060 recovered. One juvenile arrested and detained for questioning."

A garda spokesman confirmed to Dublin Live the teenager was later released without charge into the custody of his parents.

The case now being considered for inclusion under the garda youth diversion programme.
