Gardai seize €60k worth of drugs after searching container in Cork city

Gardaí have arrested and charged two men in relation to the seizure of suspected drugs, thought to be worth €60,000.

The men were arrested on June 9 after Gardaí searched a container near Centre Park Road in Cork City on Wednesday evening.

Gardaí seized €55,000 of suspected cannabis, €5,000 of suspected cocaine and a small quantity of suspected diazepam tablets. Gardaí also seized weighing scales and zip lock bags.

The two men, both aged in their 30s, were brought to Bridewell Garda Station and have since been charged.

They were both due to appear before Cork City District Court this morning at 10.30am.

All of the suspected drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

An ongoing Gardaí operation in Cork is targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the city.
