Gardai seize €56,000 of cocaine after spotting man acting suspiciously in estate in Ballymun, North Dublin

Cocaine worth €56,000 has been seized by gardai following a search in Ballymun, North Dublin.

The drugs were discovered after gardai observed a man acting suspiciously in the Burren Court area of Poppintree on Thursday evening.

A small amount of cannabis was also seized during the operation, Dublin Live reports.

No arrests have been made and investigations into the seizure are ongoing.

Gardai said: “As part of ongoing investigations targeting local drug distribution networks, members of the DMR North Divisional Drug Unit based in Ballymun carried out an operation in the Poppintree area on Thursday evening.

“After observing a man acting suspiciously a search was carried out in the environs of Burren Court, where Gardaí recovered cocaine with an estimated value of €56k (analysis pending) along with a small amount of cannabis. No arrests were made, enquiries are ongoing.”
