Gardai have seized a huge haul of assets including €18,600 in cash, fake €20 notes, six cars, designer clothes, drugs paraphernalia and three Rolex watches in CAB raids across eight counties.

The Criminal Assets Bureau swooped on five homes and sixteen businesses on Thursday morning in counties Roscommon, Longford, Offaly, Laois, Westmeath, Tipperary, Cavan and Dublin.

Officers from the Garda Emergency Response Unit, the Garda Regional Armed Support Unit (Western Region) and local Longford gardai assisted in the operation.

A total of 21 searches were carried out as part of an operation targeting an organised crime gang involved in the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Longford area.
