Gardai seized a staggering €1.2million worth of cannabis herb from a ditch on Friday night.
The massive find, which was discovered on the border Laois and Carlow, was part of an intelligence-led operation.
Gardai from Arles and Ballylinan were supported by the Laois Divisional Drugs Unit to make the bust.
In total, 62kg of cannabis herb was discovered, which has an estimated street value of €1.24million.
Nobody has been arrested yet but investigations are ongoing.
A garda spokesman said: "On the evening of Friday 24th April, 2020 Gardaí from Arles and Ballylinan supported by Laois Divisional Drugs Unit located drugs with an estimated street value of €1.24 million (subject to analysis).
"As a result of an intelligent-led operation, Gardaí recovered cannabis herb in a ditch along a secondary road on the Carlow/Laois border.
"This seizure of 62kg of cannabis herb is believed to have a street value of €1.24 million.
"Investigations are ongoing, no persons have been arrested at this time."
