Two elderly men found dead at small farm in Cork as Gardai launch manhunt for red Toyota van

Gardai are on the hunt for a man driving a red Toyota van after two brothers were found dead in a horror incident in Co Cork.

The brothers, both in their 60s, were discovered at a small farm in Corroghorm, just outside Mitchelstown.

And officers are attempting to track down the whereabouts of a third brother.

The family is understood to be known in the local community, but described as quiet.

Locals in the area are said to be reeling at news of the incident.

Cllr Frank O'Flynn told the Irish Mirror: "It's a very nice, quiet, closely knit area.

"This is the last thing you'd expect.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time."

Members of the public are urged to contact the guards if they have information on the van, registration number 03-WW-1556.

The guards are currently at the scene of a "domestic premises" outside Michelstown, where the bodies of two elderly men have been discovered.

Officers are still tracing the location of the van.

In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí in Cork are urgently looking to trace the whereabouts of a red Toyota Corolla Van, registration 03-WW-1556.

"Members of the public with information are asked to call 999 immediately. Do not approach this vehicle.

"An Garda Siochana has no further comment at this time."
