Gardai are on the scene after an incident on O'Connell Street in Dublin city.
Emergency services are at the scene where an area of the busy street is currently being sealed off.
Pictures and videos seen by Dublin Live show what appears to be a large amount of blood across the foothpath.
An ambulance also attended while another video shows gardai cleaning the blood from the rainy footpath as shoppers pass by.
It's understood that it was an incident of a sensitive nature. A source said it was not a violent altercation.
