Gardai are investigating the discovery of a man's body in Limerick city on Friday.
Emergency services sealed off part of Liddy Street at 4pm after a member of the public made the discovery.
A man, aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene and transferred to University Hospital Limerick.
Gardai have launched an investigation however it is not believed the death is being treated as suspicious.
A garda spokesperson said: "At approximately 4pm on Friday 6th November 2020 Gardaí from Henry Street and Emergency Services were called to Liddy Street, Limerick following the discovery of a body of a man understood to be in late 40s.
"He was removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick and the local Coroner has been notified. The outcome of a post-mortem examination will determine the course of a Garda investigation into the circumstances of the man’s death."
