Gardai say gunmen in west Dublin shooting used three different vehicles after firing ten shots at man

The gunmen involved in a brazen shooting in Lucan, west Dublin used three different getaway vehicles after blasting a man with ten bullets on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim, who is in his early 40s, managed to make a miraculous escape after crawling out of the driver seat of his car and fleeing to a nearby house in Griffeen Glen Park as the hit team fired bullets at the windscreen, Dublin Live reports.

He was removed to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where he remains in a stable condition.

Gardai believe that the shooters used three different vehicles following the attack all of which were found burnt out in various locations.

The suspects are said to have fled the scene in a white Volkswagen Caddy first which was set on fire at Elm Way in Lucan.

It is then believed that they transferred to an Opel Vectra which was set alight on Liffey Road in Lucan.

Following that, it is understood that the suspects fled the scene in a Toyota Avensis which was discovered on fire at Blind Lane, Fassaroe, Bray.

No arrests have been made and an incident room has been set up at Lucan Garda Station.

Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have noticed two males running from vehicles in any of the above locations to come forward.
