Gardai rushed to scene as house goes up in flames in Cork city

Gardai rushed to the scene after a house in Cork city went up in flames in the early hours of Thursday.

The incident happened at around 3am this morning on the Redforge Road in Blackpool.

Cork City Fire Brigade sent three units to the scene of the incident, Cork Beo reports.

Thankfully nobody was injured.

An investigation has now been launched into the cause but it's understood it's not being treated as suspicious.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí attended a fire at a property on Redforge Road shortly after 3am this morning, Thursday 17th December 2020. No one was injured during the incident.

"Enquiries ongoing."
