Gardaí rush to scene of man wielding machete in Irish village

Gardaí rushed to the scene of an incident in a Galway village earlier today after receiving reports of a man armed with a machete, GalwayBeo reports.

Gardaí say that the man in his 30s was arrested on Thursday, 22 September for having an offensive weapon and is set to appear in court in the coming weeks.

The man is alleged to have been seen around the village of Craughwell on Thursday carrying what has been alleged to have been a machete or similar item.

The man was arrested and later charged. The man in his 30s is set to appear before the District Court in Loughrea on 5 October 2022.

A statement from An Garda Síochána confirmed: "Gardaí arrested a man in his 30s for possession of an offensive weapon in Craughwell yesterday, Thursday 22 nd September 2022.

"He has since been charged and is due to appear before Loughrea District Court on 5 th October 2022."
