Gardai rush to scene of late-night shooting at house in Clondalkin, Co Dublin

Gardai rushed to the scene of a shooting in the Clondalkin area of Dublin last night.

The incident happened at around 9.20pm at Greensfort Crescent.

Officers said "a number of shots" were fired at a house in the area, with damage caused to the windows and exterior of the house.

It is understood that those involved fled the scene on foot. Nobody inside the house was injured.

Gardai confirmed that a man in his 20s was arrested in a follow-up operation near the scene by members of the Armed Support Unit.

He is currently being held at Ronanstown Garda Station.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact the incident room at Ronanstown Garda Station 01-6667700 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.

"Investigations are ongoing and updates will follow. No further information is available at this time."
