A young woman has died in a horror collision between a car and a truck in Co Kerry.
The incident happened on the N69 just outside Tralee at around 1.15pm on Monday.
A woman in her 20s who was driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck is understood to have escaped uninjured.
Officers have closed the road as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are set to examine the scene.
Local diversions are now in place with the road expected to be shut for some time.
Gardai are also appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision to come forward with information.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and a truck that occurred on the N69, Tralee, Co. Kerry this afternoon, Monday 16th August 2021 at approximately 1:15pm.
"A woman in her 20s the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was uninjured.
"The road is currently closed to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to examine the scene. Local diversions are in place.
"Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are particularly appealing to any road users who were travelling on this road at the time with camera footage (including dash-cam) to make this available to them.
