A young woman has died in a drowning incident in Co Cavan.
Gardai and other emergency services rushed to the scene of the tragedy at Lough Gowna just before 9.30pm on Wednesday.
Officers launched the operation alongside Cavan Fire Services and Civil Defence.
The body of a woman in her late 20s was recovered from the water shortly after, before being brought to Navan Hospital.
Gardai said that the Coroner has now been notified.
A post mortem exam is now expected to take place in the coming days.

It is understood that gardai are currently treating the matter as a swimming accident.
A garda spokesman said: "On Wednesday, 21st July 2021 shortly before 9.30pm, Gardaí attended at a lake in Gowna, Co Cavan following reports of a drowning incident.
"The body of a woman (late 20s) was recovered near the shoreline by Cavan Fire Services & Civil Defence a short time later.
"The Coroner has been notified and the body of the deceased has been removed to the mortuary at Navan Hospital for a postmortem examination."
