A woman was rushed to hospital after a horror two-car crash in Co Mayo.
The incident happened in the Manulla area of the county on Thursday.
Gardai and fire service units raced to the scene at around 2.15pm.
The two-vehicle collision happened on the N60 road.
Officers said that a woman, who was driving one of the cars, was brought to hospital. The extent of her injuries is not yet known.
It is also understood that one car overturned during the crash.
Gardai added that their investigations into the incident are continuing.
A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí are investigating a road traffic collision that occurred on the N60 in Manulla, Co. Mayo yesterday afternoon, 9 th June 2021 at approximately 2.15pm.
"Two vehicles collided on the stretch of road. Emergency services attended the scene. The driver of one vehicle, a female, was taken to hospital for treatment of her injuries.
"Investigations are ongoing."
While the Mayo Fire Service added on Thursday evening: "Crews from Castlebar (MO11) are currently in attendance at a road traffic accident (RTA) at Manulla. please approach with caution."
