Gardai rush to scene as two people brought to hospital after horror crash in Co Donegal

Two people were rushed to hospital after a horror two-car collision in Co Donegal.

The incident happened in Ramelton just outside of Letterkenny on Thursday.

Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene after two cars collided in the Ballyarr area at around 4.30pm.

Officers confirmed that the drivers of both cars were brought to nearby Letterkenny University Hospital.

However their condition is not yet known.

The road was closed for a time with diversions in place, but has since reopened.

Gardai said that investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.

A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí are investigating a road traffic collision that occurred in Ramelton, Co. Donegal on Thursday 10th June 2021 at 4.30pm.

"Two vehicles collided in the Ballyarr area. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to Letterkenny University Hospital by emergency services.

"Investigations are ongoing."
