A man and a woman were seriously injured in a horror crash in Co Galway on Sunday.
The incident happened in the early hours of the morning in Loughrea.
Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene at around 2.10am after a motorbike collided with another vehicle on the Gort Road.
The driver of the motorcycle, a man in his 50s, was transferred to hospital with serious injuries.
The pillion passenger, a woman in her 30s, was also brought to University Hospital Galway. Her injuries were also understood to be serious.
Gardai said the driver of the other vehicle failed to remain at the scene after the crash.

The road is currently closed and an examination of the scene is underway.
Officers are now appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision in Loughrea, Co.Galway on Sunday, 6th June 2021.
"Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the collision on Gort Road at approximately 2.10am. The collision involved a motorcycle and another vehicle.
"The driver of the motorcycle, a man in his 50s, and the pillion passenger, a woman aged in her 30s, were both taken to University Hospital Galway for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, failed to remain at the scene.
"A technical examination of the scene is now underway and local diversions are in place.
"Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision or anyone with information to come forward to them.
