Gardai rush to scene as driver 'exits van and launches abuse' in road rage incident

Gardai have appealed for witnesses of a suspected incident of road rage that occurred on Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 10.15 am at the Ninemile Stone Roundabout, Co Meath.

Officers said the two vehicles were travelling from the Ratoath to the Ninemile Stone Roundabout when the "suspected road rage" occurred.

The driver of a brown Peugeot Van allegedly got out of his vehicle and verbally abused the other driver.

A garda spokesperson said: “The Garda at Dunboyne Garda Station are looking for the public's assistance with regard to a suspected road rage incident that occurred this morning 13.10.21 at approximately 10.15 at the Ninemile Stone Roundabout.

“The injured party and aggressor were travelling from Ratoath to the Ninemile Stone Roundabout, where it came to a head there when the driver of a brown coloured Peugeot Van got out and abused and gestured at the other driver.”

People are reminded that acts of road rage can see a hefty fine and penalty points.

Any potential witnesses or dashcam footage would be most welcomed. Don't hesitate to get in touch with the gardai on 01 8010600 if you can help in any way.
