Gardai rushed to the scene after shots were fired at a house in Co Louth.
The incident happened at around 8.15pm on Monday.
Officers were alerted to the scene of a "firearms incident" at St Finian's Park in Drogheda.
It is understood that up to six shots were fired at the property, RTE News reports.
Nobody was injured in the incident and officers have preserved the scene for further examination.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardai in Drogheda were alerted to an alleged firearms incident at a house in St. Finian's Park, Drogheda this evening, Monday, December 20, 2021 at approximately 8.15p.m.

"No persons were injured during the incident. The scene is currently preserved and the matter is under investigation at this time."
