Gardai rush to scene after man found with 'serious injuries' at house in Kerry

Gardai are investigating an alleged assault after a man was found seriously injured at a house in Kerry on Thursday afternoon.

Officers were alerted to an incident in Rathmore shortly after midday.

A man, aged in his early 50s, was found seriously injured and rushed to Cork University Hospital.

His injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.

No arrests have been made at this point with a garda investigation underway.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí in Rathmore are investigating an alleged assault that occurred yesterday afternoon, Thursday 4th February, 2021.

"At approximately 12.30p.m. Gardaí were alerted to an injured man (early 50s) at his home in Gneeveguilla, Rathmore, Co. Kerry. The emergency services and Gardaí attended and the injured man was removed to Cork University Hospital for treatment. He remains in a serious condition but his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

"Investigations ongoing."
