Gardai rush to scene after man dies in tragic fall from roof in quiet Irish village

A man has died after falling off a roof in West Cork.

The man in his 70s was pronounced dead after the fall in Ballineen and Enniskean this afternoon.

The Irish Community Rapid Response were tasked to the area after a call went in to the National Ambulance Service, Cork Beo reports.

The team's rapid response vehicle was at the scene within minutes and their air ambulance helicopter arrived from Dunmanway shortly after.

A garda spokesman confirmed they're currently at the scene and a coroner has been contacted.

He said: "Gardaí are currently the scene of a workplace accident that occurred this afternoon, Wednesday 14th April in Enniskeane, Co. Cork.
