Gardai renew appeal for witnesses to crash that killed cyclist at Gap of Dunloe, Co Kerry

Gardai have renewed their appeal for witnesses to a crash that killed a cyclist last weekend.

A man in his 40s died after his bike and a car collided on the Gap of Dunloe, Beaufort, Killarney, at around 8am.

The cyclist was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí in Killarney are renewing their appealing for witnesses in relation to a fatal road traffic collision in Co Kerry that occurred on the 2nd June 2019.

"The collision involving a cyclist and a car occurred at approximately 8am on the Gap of Dunloe at Dunloe Upper, Beaufort, Killarney, at a junction known locally as Joy’s Cross.

"The cyclist, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was not injured.

"Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the area close to the time of the collision, especially those with dashcam footage, to contact Killarney Garda Station 064-6671160, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station."
