Gardai renew appeal for witnesses to brutal murder of Eric Fowler in Blanchardstown

These are the last images of gangland murder victim Eric Fowler – just before he was blasted to death in his driveway three days before Christmas.

Gardai screened the CCTV shots last night in an appeal for witnesses to the brutal hit.

The 34-year-old was gunned down in front of his home at Blakestown Cottages on the Blakestown Road, Blanchardstown, North Dublin, at 6.50pm on December 22, 2018.

Detectives hope footage of his last movements will trigger the memories of potential witnesses.

They are particularly keen to speak to a jogger who passed the scene between 6.30pm and 7pm and stayed with the victim until an ambulance arrived.

RTE’s Crimecall also showed footage of the getaway car – a Volkswagen Jetta, registration 06MH3192. It was found burned out a short time later at Rusheeney Village.

Det Sgt Shane McCartan appealed for information in relation to the movements of the car which had been purchased four days prior on December 18.

Fowler had arrived home and was closing his gate when the killers, who were not masked, pounced.

Anyone with information can call Crimecall on 1800 40 50 60.
