Gardai release picture of vehicle involved in Kildare hit-and-run as woman remains in serious condition in hospital

Gardai investigating a hit-and-run which left a woman hospitalised with serious injuries have released a picture of the car involved.

One female pedestrian in her 40s was seriously injured and remains in hospital as of Wednesday morning after the collision in Newbridge, Co Kildare at around 10.20am on Tuesday.

Gardaí believe the injured woman was standing beside a car when another vehicle passed by and struck her.

The vehicle in question fled the scene, while two other stationary cars were damaged in the incident.

At the moment, gardai are carrying out a technical examination of both cars and are investigating the CCTV from the area.

They are particularly interested in the blue Ford Focus hatchback, which was the offending vehicle that fled the scene.

Furthermore, they are appealing to the driver of this car to come forward.

In order to aid their investigation, officers have released a picture of the car.

It was last seen on the Dublin Road in Newbridge with damage to both the left and right-hand sides.
