A Garda report into the incident stated: "Following the report of a number of burglaries in the District overnight, Gardai from Fermoy Regular and Detective Units, accompanied by units from Cork City and the Regional Armed Support Unit, carried out searches in Cork City earlier today.

"We recovered all property stolen last night. We’re happy to report that arrangements have already been made to reunite the owners with their property. Our investigation is ongoing.

"By reporting suspicious activity in your neighbourhood you can stop criminals profiting from your hard work. Please call 112/999 if you see anything suspicious – don’t leave it to others. Alternatively the Garda Confidential Line is 1800 666 111."
