Gardai probe suspicious approach in Ashbourne of young child allegedly targeted by BMW driver

Gardai are currently investigating the suspicious approach of a young boy on the Meath/Dublin border.

The primary school child was allegedly targeted by the driver of a black BMW car in Ashbourne on Thursday.

It is said that there was an "unexplained interaction" between the kid and the car which was pulled up at Cedar Road at around 9pm.

Parents are being warned to keep an extra eye out following the disturbing incident

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Enquires are continuing in relation to reports of an unexplained interaction between the driver of a car described as a black BMW and the boy at approximately 9pm at Cedar Road, Ashbourne on Thursday 6 May.

He added: "Gardaí are treating the matter as a suspicious approach incident.
