A driver who smashed a speed limit by 64km/h was nabbed by gardai on Sunday.
Officers stopped the motorist who was detected driving faster than twice the limit in south Dublin.
Gardai carrying out a checkpoint on the N11 pulled the van over, before issuing a Fix Charged Penalty Notice.
A garda tweet said: "While carrying out a speed checkpoint on the N11, DMR South Central Roads Policing stopped a driver doing 124kmh in 60kmh zone. FCPN issued."
Meanwhile, a driver in Wateford was stopped for having what appeared to be loose planks of wood hanging from the boot, before discovering the vehicle had no insurance, tax or NCT displayed.
A tweet said: "This ‘plank’ was stopped by Roads Policing in Waterford, no valid NCT, no tax or insurance disc displayed, vehicle seized, proceedings to follow."
