Gardai set to meet with owner of car used in murder of Hamid Sanambar in North Dublin

Gardai are set to meet later today with the owner of a car used in the murder of Hamid Sanambar.

Sanambar, who was in his 40s, and originally from Iran but living in Ireland for several years was blasted in the head by a gunman in broad daylight on Tuesday.

Gardai have confirmed that he was standing in the garden of the home of Sean Little on Kilbarron Avenue when he was struck by a hail of bullets.

Sean Little, 22, and Jordan Davis, 22, died just hours apart in trademark gangland killings - there was a wake underway for Little at the time when Sanambar was gunned to death.

Detective Inspector Michael Mulligan, flanked by Superintendent Brian Daly, gave a brief press conference on Wednesday.

Inspector Mulligan said they are looking for three people and would meet with the man who bought the getaway car this afternoon.

He said: "We are particularly interested in a Toyota Avensis car with the registration 04-D-71806 and its whereabouts since it was sold earlier this month."

He said: "The car was bought from a motor dealer on the southside and we are aware of the person who purchased it but we are looking at its use from the period of time since May 20.

"We can't confirm how long the car was in the area for but we are aware that it was there yesterday morning."

He appealed for people with dashcam footage who might know where this car has been to come forward.

In particular, delivery drivers and ambulances frequenting that area of Beaumont Hospital around the Santry shop and back around.

"That car was found burned out at Castletimon Gardens and if anyone has any idea where it was parked up, we would ask them to come forward to the gardai.

"We are not giving any descriptions of those involved for operational reasons. There were three persons who left the scene in the car after the shooting.

"This is a murder investigation being run here, we have adequate resources. National units are here with us as well.

"We will have the full opportunity to deal with it."
