Two people have been arrested in relation to drug trafficking after a huge operation led by Gardai and Revenue officers resulted in over €100,000 worth of herbal cannabis being seized in Blanchardstown.
The intelligence led operation was part of a number of ongoing investigations targeting people suspected to be involved in organised crime in the Blanchardstown area.
This afternoon, a premises was searched by officers.
During the search, 6.68 kilograms of cannabis with an estimated street value of €133,600 was recovered.
One man aged in his 20s and a woman aged in her 40s were arrested.
A Garda spokesperson said: "As part of ongoing investigations targeting persons suspected to be involved in organised crime operating in the Blanchardstown area, a Joint Intelligence led operation was conducted by the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau, Gardaí attached to the Drugs Unit at Blanchardstown Garda Station and the Revenue Customs Service this afternoon, Friday 16th July, 2021.
"The operation resulted in the search of a premises in the Blanchardstown area. During the course of this operation 6.68 Kgs herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of €133,600 (One hundred and thirty three thousand and six hundred euro) was seized. The seized drugs will be forwarded for analysis.

"One man, aged 22 years and one woman, aged 41 years were arrested in relation to drug trafficking offences. They are both currently being detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
"Investigations ongoing."
