Gardaí have confirmed they have launched an investigation into an incident at a GAA game over the weekend which saw a teenager left with a head injury.
The alleged incident occurred at Bruff GAA grounds in the Munster county, before an intermediate hurling match between Hospital/Herbertstown and Croom, the Limerick Leader reports.
The teenager in question received head injuries during the incident, according to the paper.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed to the Irish Mirror that a probe had been launched.
They said: "Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault that is understood to have occurred in Bruff, at approximately 4:30pm on Saturday 11th September 2021. No arrests have been made, investigations are ongoing."
A spokesperson for Limerick GAA told the Leader: "We are aware that there was an incident. The matter is under investigation. There will be no further comment until it is investigated."
