Gardaí have launched an investigation after a firearms incident in a doctor's surgery in Cork led to a man's death.
On Tuesday evening, the man entered the Primary Healthcare Centre at Gooldshill in Malllow.
Gardaí say the male was fatally injured after the firearms incident.
They said in a statement to the Irish Mirror: "Gardaí in Mallow were alerted to a firearms incident that occurred at a business premises on Gouldshill, Mallow, Co. Cork this evening Tuesday 7th September, 2021.
"A male (early 50s) was fatally injured and his body has been removed to the mortuary in Cork University Hospital where a post mortem will be conducted.
"A file will be prepared for the Coroners Court."

The man had been at an appointment in the facility between 6 and 7pm, the Irish Examiner report.
However, at 6.20, a call was made to Gardaí that a man with a pistol was in the building.
Members of the armed regional support unit were alerted and were on route when the gun was discharged, the paper says.
The man received immediate medical assistance but was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Forensics remain on the scene on Wednesday morning.
