Gardai launch investigation into unexplained death of man found on Liffey Boardwalk

Gardai are investigating the unexplained death of a man on a city centre quay early this morning.

The man's body was discovered on the Liffey Boardwalk at Ormond Quay shortly after 6:30am.

The scene at the busy thoroughfare was sealed off by gardai with a cordon remaining in place until this evening.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live a post mortem will determine the course of their investigation.

He said: "Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances following the discovery of a body of a man at Ormand Quay at approximately 6:35am on Friday, 4th June, 2021.

"A post mortem is scheduled to take place at a later date and this will determine the course of the investigation."
