Gardai have launched an investigation after a young boy claims he was sexually assaulted by students at a secondary school.
The incident allegedly took place at a school in Co Westmeath in 2017.
It is alleged that three students assaulted the boy which left him with mental health problems as a result of it.
The allegation is that three students dragged the boy into a room and tried to sexually assault him with a clothes hangar while he was held down, the Irish Sun reports.
The student is thought to have had his clothes on when the alleged incident happened and got minor injuries.
The student didn't tell his parents about the attack until December 2017 when it was reported to gardai and Tulsa.
He is no longer a student in the school.
Gardai have launched an investigation and are awaiting directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions on how to proceed.
A garda spokeswoman told the Irish Mirror: "This is an ongoing investigation and a file has been forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions for direction."
