Gardai launch investigation as woman found dead in Killiney, Dublin in 'unexplained circumstances'

Gardai have launched an investigation after the body of a woman was found in "unexplained circumstances".

The woman, in her 50s, was discovered at a house in the Killiney area of Dublin earlier today, Tuesday.

Gardai have sealed off the scene to facilitate a forensic examination.

The woman's post-mortem is set to take place tomorrow, Wednesday, and gardai say the results of this will determine the course of the investigation.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí at Dún Laoghaire are investigating the discovery of a body of a female in her 50s in unexplained circumstances at a house in the Killiney area earlier today Tuesday 31st March 2020.

"The house is currently preserved. The course of the investigation will be determined by the post-mortem which is scheduled to take place tomorrow Wednesday 1st April 2020.

"No further information is available at this time."
