It comes less than a week after a woman was arrested under the Mental Health Act after attempting to snatch a toddler from a pram in Kerry.
The mum and her one-year-old son had just arrived to do some shopping when a woman approached them outside the store and tried to take control of the pram carrying the child.
The stranger fled from the scene but, shortly afterwards, the woman again shocked the startled young mum, this time inside the store, unbuckling the child from the pram and trying to take him from it.
Security guards and staff in the North Circular Road store rushed to the victim’s assistance when she called out for help and Gardai were summoned to the scene.
The shocked mum, showing great composure and compassion, called an ambulance because she said it was obvious to her that the woman – who wasn’t known to her – didn’t appear to be well.
