Gardai lash out at boy racers after signs and roads damaged in Laois over weekend

Gardaí have hit out after a number of Midlands roads and signs were damaged by cars over the weekend

Officers in the Glendine area of Laois were called out to deal with a number of "anti social issues"

When they arrived, the road was covered in tyre marks, with bits of tyre strewn across the lanes and in the grass at the sides.

Taking to Facebook to show the damage, a spokesperson for the Garda division for Laois/Offaly said: "The anti social issues by some motorists really doesn't resonate with them and the problems they cause in our communities. This is Glendine today after last night.

"Roads and signage damaged.

"Obviously mammies and daddies little treasures have no issues financially to be buying tyres.

"We will continue to engage and enforce."
