Gardai have issued a warning to Lucan residents about an increase in home burglaries in the area.
Thieves are primarily targeting cars parked outside homes.
In a post on social media this evening, gardai issued security advice to locals.
They said: "We would like to highlight to the residents of Lucan that there has been an increase in residential burglaries in the Lucan Area.
"Thieves are primarily targeting cars parked outside the premises.
"Please ensure your homes are secured, in particular at night time check that all windows and doors are locked.
"Also to ensure your keys are not on display, especially in the hallway near the front door.
"Keep safe and Vigilant, if you see any suspicious activity please contact Lucan Garda Station on 01 6667300."
